The Careers
During the opening ceremonies we saw their crowd appeal. During the interviews we saw their people skills. During the training sessions we saw their strength. They were better. They were stronger. They were prepared. But it was when the attention wasn’t on them that you saw what they didn’t want you to see; their friendship. The way Marvel & Glimmer made stupid jokes about nothing. The way Cato always helped Clove train. The high-five Marvel gave Cato when he did something well. The way Cato protected Marvel like a little brother. The way Glimmer always looked for Clove when times were quiet. They were human. And they were going into the arena with the friends with the goal of only one coming out.
